Alan Jay Lerner's Birthday

Today is AJ Lerner's birthday. Being a fan of Broadway, tomorrow evening I will upload a selection by the dynamic duo Lerner (Alan Jay) & Lowe (Frederick). There are so many tunes from which to choose...

As a place holder, I have the Blue Diamonds of yore warming up with an English version of Kyu Sakamoto's big hit from 1963. This is a rather corny version of Sukiyaki. Otherwise, the arrangement and vocals are pleasing to the ear.

L'Envoi, you know people's birthdays very well.. ^^

Not really, Snoopy. Even though I am a student of several genre of music, I am not into the fan club kind of details by keeping track of whose birthday is when. I like to think of it as a small but not obsessive hobby.

Lerner died almost 20 years ago. But he happens to be a lyricist and playwright whose works I like. I venture to guess you also have heard of songs written Lerner and Lowe.

Lerner & Lowe's celebrated song, "On the Street Where You Live", from their award winning musical, "My Fair Lady", has been uploaded.

Hello, Snoopy. When I said being a "student of...", it was another of way saying, "I have an interest in...".

Just click on the L'Envoi Music Selection on the sidebar. The link will take you to the music site. The same site where you'd listened to "Misty" a while back.

When you asked for the rest of the "My Fair Lady" music, I am assuming you did not dislike listening to "On the Street Where You Live."

Am I correct to make such an assumption?

yes, correct.. but why you have to make such an assumption?
