Shine On Harvest Moon (1908)
Words: Jack Norworth
Music: Nora Bayes Norworth

Vocals: The New Vaudeville Band (1967)

The night was mighty dark so you could hardly see
For the moon refused to shine
Couple sitting underneath the willow tree
For love, they pined

Little maid was kinda 'fraid of darkness
So she said, "I guess I'll go."
Boy began to sigh, looked up at the sky
Told the moon his little tale of woe

"Shine on, shine on harvest moon up in the sky
I ain't had no lovin' since January, February, June, or July
Snow time, ain't no time to stay outdoors and spoon
So shine on, shine on harvest moon for me and my gal."

[Interlude]

"Oh, shine on, shine on harvest moon up in the sky
I ain't had no lovin' since January, February, June, or July
Snow time, ain't no time to stay outdoors and spoon
So shine on, shine on harvest moon for me and my gal."

It's a simple and straight to the point song for another time and age. Be that as it may, the song is still popular to this day.

By the way, the New Vaudeville Band used the hands to simulate the megaphone to record its songs just like the olden days of the early 20th century. Back then, the vocalist sang through a megaphone to amplify his voice. This was before the advent of the microphone.

I take it you enjoyed listening to the song.
