When I Consider

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place, what is man that You are mindful of him? Why do You bother with me? Why take a second look my way?

Because You have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or You brought forth the earth and the world, from Everlasting to Everlasting - You are God!

i remember a hymn...

it's in Chinese... do know it? :)

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.

I do not know this hymn, Snoopy. Yet, both of our respective posts are rooted in Psalm 8 of the Old Testament. Yours have more verbatim quotations from this psalm.

What is overlooked, misunderstood, and under-appreciated by many Christians and pastors, is that verse 5, should read or translate as:

"Yet You have made him a little lower than God (Heb. syhlla)," and not as angels, as the King James and the Chinese translations would have it.

When we rendered the original Hebrerw text "syhlla" correctly as "God," as the New American Standard Bible (NASB) had, it brought a sharper focus, deeper insight, and awe of His attributes.

God did not reckon His Son so dear a price to pay for the lives of fallen angels, but delivered Him up for us; a creation just little lower than Himself. Our salvation is not cheaply bought. It is bought with a costly grace.
